Getting started
When you open WEGOGYM, allow location access and the app will automatically show you gyms nearby. You can switch between the map view and the list view using the tabs at the bottom of the screen. If you prefer not to share your location, you can manually search by suburb or city using the search bar on the Home screen.
No — you can browse gyms, view equipment lists, and use all filters without creating an account. An account is only required if you want to save gyms to your favourites or contribute equipment data to the directory.
Tap the filter icon (the funnel icon) on the Home, Map, or Explore screens. You can filter by sport discipline (e.g. Powerlifting, Pilates), workout style (e.g. Hyrox, HIIT), gym features (e.g. 24/7 Access, Women's Only), or specific equipment items like squat racks, assault bikes, or GHDs. You can combine as many filters as you like. Tap Save Preset to save your filter combination for future use.
Yes — WEGOGYM is completely free. There are no subscriptions, no paywalls, and no in-app purchases. The full search, filter, and discovery experience is available to everyone at no cost.
Contributing gym data
Open the gym's profile page and tap the Contribute button. You can add equipment that isn't listed, update quantities, flag outdated information, or upload a photo. You'll need a WEGOGYM account to contribute. All contributions are reviewed before going live — you'll be notified when your edit is approved and will earn reputation points for accurate contributions.
It depends on your contributor reputation score. New contributors have their edits reviewed manually, which typically takes 24–48 hours. As you build a track record of accurate contributions your edits will be approved faster. Trusted contributors with a high reputation score have their edits approved instantly.
On the gym's profile page, tap Contribute and select Flag outdated info. Describe what is incorrect and our moderation team will review it. You can also edit the equipment data directly if you know the correct information — accurate edits earn you reputation points.
If a gym is missing from WEGOGYM, please email us at support@wegogym.com.au with the gym's name, address, and any other details you have. We'll add it to the directory as quickly as possible. In a future update we'll be adding the ability to submit new gyms directly through the app.
Account and privacy
You can delete your account by going to your Profile tab → Settings → Delete Account. This will permanently remove your account and personal data within 30 days. Note that equipment contributions you have made will remain in the directory but will be attributed to "Former Member" rather than your display name.
Go to your Profile tab → Settings → Account Details to update your email address or password. If you've forgotten your password, tap Forgot Password on the login screen and we'll send a reset link to your email address.
We collect the minimum data needed to run the service — your name, email, training preferences, and location (only while using the app). We never sell your data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
For gym owners
Gym claiming is coming soon. In the meantime, if you'd like to update your gym's information, add equipment data, or have your gym listed, please email us at support@wegogym.com.au and we'll get you set up.
Email us at support@wegogym.com.au with your gym's name, what information is incorrect, and the correct details. We'll update it promptly. Once gym claiming is available you'll be able to manage your own profile directly.
